A Brief Report – Quran Quiz, Art & Speech Competition (Friday November 2, 2012)
Sat, November 03 2012

Inter-School Quran Quiz, Art & Speech Competition-2012
5th & 6th Dhul-Hijjah, 1433 A.H. (22nd & 23rd October, 2012)
based on Mutala-e-Quran Hakeem (Part 1)
organized by The ILM Foundation

A Brief Report

On a regular basis The ILM Foundation organizes and holds competitions. The purpose of these events is to foster and put to test the Islamic knowledge of children. The Quran Quiz, Art & Speech Competition based on Mutala-e-Quran Hakeem took place on 5th & 6th Dhul-Hijjah, 1433 A.H. (22nd & 23rd October, 2012) at the Faran Club, Gulshan-e-Iqbal in the Karachi City. 40 students of 10 schools from different areas of Karachi, who had finished studying Part-1 of Mutala-e-Quran Hakeem, participated in the competition.

DAY ONE:
Day one of the event arrived like the first wave of blooming flowers in the season of spring. One saw children rushing through the doors of Faran Club eager to participate and share the excellent knowledge they had acquired from the Part-1 of Mutala-e-Quran Hakeem. First day schools were divided into two groups for Quiz & Speech Competition, top four participants from each group selected for the Final Program of Quiz & Speech. Participants for Art Competition were not divided into groups, top eight participants selected for the Final Program of Art.

Asfar from The Hope Islamic School started the program with the beautiful recitation of Holy Quran after that Brother Dr. Muhammad Ilyas hosted the whole contest. First of all there was a quiz contest followed by speech competition of first group meanwhile participants of art competition had been given drawing sheets and color pencils to accomplish their work on the topic given. After the refreshment break quiz contest followed by speech competition of second group started and finally judges announced the top eight school names of each category qualifying for the final program next day.

DAY TWO:
Day two arrived and all the excited students rushed into the same venue with their teachers one more time. Imagine a place accommodating nearly 200 students with their teachers. Final program invitations were sent to the principals and teachers of around 70+ schools where Mutala-e-Quran Hakeem is being taught and also the board of trustees of TIF.

Again the program started with the beautiful recitation of the Holy Quran after that Brother Shujauddin Shaikh hosted the final event by sharing the brief achievements of The ILM Foundation with the audience in the beginning of program. First of all there was a quiz contest followed by speech competition among the top eight schools and participants of art competition also started their working on the topic given.

The final program was a little tense as the participants were very nervous but Brother Shujauddin Shaikh kept putting their spirits up and telling them not to get nervous as this is not a school examination and that anyone can give wrong answers. In this way the participants began to feel a little better. Kids really liked the video round in the speech contest and enjoyed a lot in the art competition. Kids also inspired the audience and judges in the speech contest to the great extent.

After the Quran Quiz, Art and Speech Competition was over, the prize and shield distribution began for all the participants and the happy winners. Excited faces of children displaying their hard earned shields made it worth the investment of time, money and hard work that went in to this program. In addition, each child received a certificate of participation, a gift of book & CD, on behalf of TIF and a delicious lunch box. VCD of Brother Shujauddin Shaikh on the topic of “Eid-ul-Adha” had also been distributed in the audience.

Masha Allah, by the Mercy and Affection of our beloved Creator Allah (SWT), day two ended with even more success. Upon asking the excited teachers about their students’ performance, they were quick to thank TIF for arranging such a wonderful program and praising the organization and early publicity of the event, which allowed for them to best prepare their children. This unique program brought children from various schools to one venue. This was a major achievement for TIF, and only possible by the mercy and grace of our beloved creator Allah (SWT).

The Competition photos and video will be uploaded soon on www.tif.edu.pk
